Hi
I downloaded this app a few days ago and am very pleased with it. The annotations tool is exactly what I have been looking for in a teacher planner app. I have two questions.
Once you backup to Drop box, how can the data be read? My Drop box has the data, but says it can't be viewed. Can it only be seen when you import it back into your app?
Secondly, is it possible to add an annotation to the header of the columns for grades. It would be great to be able to add a marking rubric or even the whole assignment for each task.
Thank you
Greg

Hi Greg,
Here the answers.
"Can it only be seen when you import it back into your app?"
Yes, for the moment. It is actually a complete zip backup of all the information as it is stored internally in iDoceo (that is why Dropbox can't show it) and in case of a fatality (e.g. stolen iPad, or a class erased by mistake), you'd be able to restore all the info back in no time.
We're contemplating the idea of saving a PDF file for each class in Dropbox with each backup as well, so you'd be able to view that info too without the app. That will probably be scheduled for version 2.1 (the next after this upcoming release) ,maybe that will help.
"is it possible to add an annotation to the header of the columns for grades"
Uhm , I'm no sure if I understand what you need , you have a header ,a subheader and annotations for each column, besides the grade type. If you elaborate a bit more I'll look into it,a small example of what you'd like to have would be great.
Thanks a lot for contacting us.

Thanks for so quick a reply!
When I set an assignment that will be graded, I also provide the student with the marking guidelines I will be using. I like to keep these in my folder with the grades. Useful to show parents, for instance. In the grade book on the app I can list the task and then put in each student's grade beneath it. For each student I can also add annotations.
It might be handy, though to be able to have the same annotation feature in the cell at the top of the column of grades. I imagine a link to the actual assignment and its marking guidelines. So imagine the grades are for " poetry essay" I could click on this cell and the actual assignment could be viewed.
Does that make sense? Thanks for your patience

Sure , that makes sense, lets see if we can add it for this next release.
We're also in the way of being able to add audio&images on each cell . Maybe having an image of the assignment linked on each header would work for you too.
I'll keep you posted!
